ImageThis is such a simple project, it only takes about an hour to make.  The display works well as a free standing patio feature - simply hide the tub with pots and plants and sit back and relax to the sound of water.

How to create an outdoor display sunk into the garden

Image1. Dig a hole slightly bigger than the basin and backfill with soil once it is in place.

Image2. Important: Take time to ensure that the basin is completely level, as this will give the best effect when the fountain operates.

Image3. The flexible hose connection from the deer scarer can then be fitted to the fountain stem using the Laguna Multi-Hose adaptor.

Image4. Once connected together, position the pump in the centre of the basin where a circular opening in the cover plate allows the pump's fountain stem to pass through.

Image5. Fill the basin with water and adjust flow of the fountain and spouting ornament by turning the control on the fountain stem to give the desired effect.  Arrange the pebbles around the deer scarer to support the stem and the installation is complete.

Image6. The soil surrounding the display can now be planted up with suitable greenery or decorated with gravel or more pepples.  Choose taller plants as a backdrop to set off the display.

Maintenance: The only maintenance required is replacement of water lost through evaporation.  Pay particular attention to this as the pump will be damaged is it runs dry.
